US Approves Potential Patriot Defense Package for Ukraine
The proposed package comprises enhancements to Ukraine’s M901 launchers, upgrading them to the more advanced M903 model.
It also includes designated load lists for ground support gear, spare components, training programs, and additional logistical and program assistance, the statement indicated.
Officials noted that the arrangement advances US foreign policy goals by reinforcing the protection of “a partner country that is a force for political stability and economic progress in Europe.”
Ukraine has increasingly depended on US-manufactured systems to defend against Russia’s daily missile and drone attacks.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that additional Patriot units have recently arrived in the country and are currently being deployed.
Kyiv has further requested 2,500-kilometer-range Tomahawk cruise missiles from Washington, though President Donald Trump stated he is “not really” considering the appeal.
