US ICE removes social media uploads about deporting Ukrainians
The posts, shared Tuesday on X and Facebook, included images of several people in civilian clothing standing before Ukrainian border officials, with captions noting their return to Ukraine. It is unclear when the posts were removed.
Zelensky met on Monday with US President Donald Trump, along with leaders from several European countries, the EU, and NATO, to discuss Ukraine-Russia peace efforts and security guarantees for Kiev.
ICE frequently posts images and videos of deportations as part of Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration. The administration has promised to conduct “the largest deportation” in US history, targeting violent criminals.
Andrey Demchenko, a spokesman for Ukraine’s Border Guard Service, said all countries have the “sovereign right” to deport illegal migrants. Meanwhile, Ukrainian lawmakers are debating measures to prevent the departure of military-age men amid the ongoing mobilization campaign.
